Role Summary

The postholder will work as part of our finance team to ensure that all financial transactions with both customers and suppliers are accurate, timely, and compliant with good practice, and that the experience for customers and suppliers dealing with us is friendly and positive.

Main function and scope of position:

Enter and manage transactions in Freeagent (accounting system)
Prepare invoices for services we have provided and send to customers
Follow up outstanding invoices with debtors in a timely and polite manner
Reconcile bank and card statements with records in Freeagent, liaising with card holders to obtain receipts
Support with payroll and expenses management
Scan records and file accurately
Assist with payment runs
Assist with VAT returns including verifying VAT receipts
Ensure the level 2 AAT qualification is achieved prior to the end of the contract
Comply with company policies and procedures
Any ad hoc duties as required.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

5 GCSEs at A-C (level 4 or above) including English and Maths

Skills:

Has the ability to enter data accurately
Has the ability to examine data to identify issues
Has the ability to reconcile data to minimise the chance of errors
Has the ability to plan and review work
Can demonstrate good listening and speaking skills to be able to communicate effectively in the right manner
Has the ability to maintain the security of accounting information using passwords and other appropriate security measures
Has the ability to organise self, prioritise workload and activity to meet deadlines
Has the ability to understand issues beyond own remit
